I am always surprised by the readership here on CCL, even after the occasional writer’s block induced hiatus. I was trying to think of a way to take advantage of the strong community and fan base of this site, when I decided to try something new.

I want to start showcasing new talent within the LGBT community. Anything from Drag Kings to writers, from burlesque dancers to sculptors and anything in between. So I am officially putting the call out for any artists, charities or even gay owned and operated businesses that would like a little good press. Even if you run across someone that you think might fit the bill, but you don’t know them, send me their link or video and I’ll take care of the rest.

Heck, this could be a perfect opening line for some of you shy ones out there like, “Hey there, I really like your ____ . I know this gay website looking for new artists to do feature stories on. Maybe we could grab a coffee and talk about it?”

See how I did that? I just gave you a way to get the contact info of any hottie out there, under the true, yet convenient guise of helping them out!

But seriously people, let’s keep an eye out for anyone doing good things within the community and give them a shout out.

And talk about serendipity! This morning I received an email from a reader:

First, I LOVE your blog!!! I just wanted to share something with you that might be of interest. It’s a short film I’ve been working on called “The Maiden and The Princess,” starring David Anders and Julian Sands. It’s about a little girl trying to come to terms with her sexuality amidst a musical fairytale We’re trying to raise money to get the film out there on the festival circuit, and get us through the final stages of post production!
