I’m vegan and new-agey as you described. I would really love to start taking yoga classes. But i’m not lez, i’m bi. I’ve also noticed that vegans tend to be more outside of the mainstream in general. I’m very interested in Hinduism and Buddhism, thought i was rasied Catholic in Catholic schools up through Middle School. I’m also interested in alternative medicine. But i’m also only 17 (i know, i’m young). I guess i live up to stereotypes, even if i’m only bisexual :/

I’m just a simple (LOL) east coast gal. And I gotta tell ya I felt kinda inadequate here for a few. Maybe its cause I’m not from El Lay I didn’t know what Biofeedback was. I had to look it up. hahahahaha Sounds interesting. I’m def not new age, vegan, vegetarian, Buddhist or a psychologist. But I think that if you can help people and feel good doing it, go for it!!! By the way, I just found this blog and I LOVE IT!!

On another thread we’re talking about a bipolar -lesbian group, and then I suggested a bipolar-lesbian-vegan group. But now, after reading this, it might be cool to have a “lesbians making the world a better place” group. I’m a bit weary about the “new age” title since I am Buddhist and do not consider myself “new age.” I’m also vegan. Maybe a common thread is that in all of those groups, there seems to be outward focus and compassion-based living as opposed to self-centered or self-focused lifestyle.

Yes, the words new agey and vegan and lesbian seem to have to be together. For instance, have you ever noticed how many “buddhist lesbian psychologists” there are in L.A.? If someone is into buddhism or new agey stuff, and they are female, and they are a psychologist, they’re most likely lesbian. I’ve already been through my Eastern philosophy stage. Now I just think it’s just kinda silly and maybe even a bit off–probably because I know what I was going through when I myself was all into it. (That’s not to say every new agey/buddhist/religious person is trying to deals with majore issues, but I was and now I tend to assume that same thing about others. Lame of me, I know.)

I’m not a vegan but I am a vegetarian and I’m also into new age spiritualism. I was raised Catholic but that was too confining and not welcoming of my lifestyle.

I think it’s really neat you’re into alternative health care.

I don’t think it matters that you suffer from your own issues. I know a lot of doctors make the worst patients! Just because someone’s a heart doctor, say, doesn’t mean that they’ll never have a heart attack and if they did, they wouldn’t be expected to perform surgery on themselves!

So if you have a gift for helping people in some way, don’t hide it because you have problems you can’t fix. It probably makes you a more compassionate person and make your clients feel more comfortable.

Maybe there are a few of us like minded lezzys running around but we’re all hiding who we really are, afraid to be judged by one another.

Hahaha this is hilarious. I’m a lesbian, vegan and new agey as you say. But my gf who eats meat with every meal and runs to the dr every time she coughs thinks I’M the one with the issues. Ha!

Biofeedback huh? That’s cool. I’m all for a drug free lifestyle, except for the fun kind of course. j/k/
