I was pleasantly surprised when not one, not two, but several butch writers responded to my call for the “Write Butch.”
I have felt for a long time that there is not enough information, education and general acceptance of the butch dynamic here in LA and probably in other parts of the country as well. I’ve noticed a lot of prejudice against butches within our own community, which is nothing but self-hatred and we need to stop it. One weird thing I’ve noticed is a lot of tombois or bois I know, vehemently try to separate themselves from the label butch as if they look down on it. I don’t get this! At all! Especially since there’s nothing I love more then a hot butch.
Since I’m lucky enough to have built up quite a large audience, I wanted to try to use Card Carrying Lesbian as a platform for some well spoken, out spoken butches to help educate you all on what life is like from their point of view.
I know some femmes will love this and get all hot and bothered. Some butches will identify with some of the stories and some bois may be ambivalent. No doubt there will be a portion of my readers that don’t like or feel comfortable with the butch/femme dynamic and this is especially for them. I hope that these new writers will open some eyes to what it’s really like, from a butch point of view.
As of right now I have about four new writers lined up. I’m just getting everything organized and then I will be introducing them and their writing to you very soon.
I can’t wait!

I can’t wait to read some new material from some new found talented butches. Sasha, I think it’s great you’re opening up your blog to the butch community. As a high femme, I’m excited to read what the new Butches of Card Carrying Lesbian have to say.
Yo Sashi, I’m a stone butch up here in the Bay area. I used to live down there in LA and had to get out for my sanity. There really does seem to be something working against the butch personna. It’s better here in the Bay but not great.
