I think the word you’re looking for here is “heteronormative” meaning pretending to be straight. It’s just a division of labor. In the end, though, it sounds like perhaps you ought to add some regular chores to her list as well, perhaps doing her own damn laundry! That would lessen your workload considerably, wouldn’t it:?

And a policy of “you cook and I clean” or vice versa works well. My wife seemed to think that she could con me into doing every single dish–well, in that case I started cooking less and less and less, and in the end I just couldn’t take it anymore because the weeds in the backyard were taller than me, and she had absolutely no interest whatsoever in getting a job.

So long as she is paying for the utilities I think it’s a fair trade. If not just slack off yourself for week and see how quickly the trees get trimmed! voila!

There’s nothing stereotypical about the Butch/femme dynamic. Period. It’s a lesbian relationship and that alone blows in the face of a male hierarchy.
