We have been on the hunt for two weeks now for the perfect couch. The more we looked, the more discouraged we got and had settled on the idea that we would bite the bullet and buy an Ikea couch.
The Ikea couch we were considering but in a different fabric.
But a huge part of my brain did not want to spend almost $1,200 on an Ikea sofa that most likely, would end up replacing in a year. So I pushed on looking in every single furniture store we passed.
The sofa gods were smiling on us a few days ago, when after a marathon shopping day (with my mother in tow, so just imagine how draining that can be) we stumbled upon the perfect sectional! We decided it would be better to spend more for quality then to be compromise for a temporary solution. (Nothing against Ikea though! In my research I found that Ikea has been coming up on their quality.)
But it was Remi’s last day off for a week, it was late, she was tired, hungry and grumpy. And I hadn’t slept in 3 days and was well on my way to a sleep deprived induced mania. Not to mention, my mother was driving me insane and slowly working on Remi’s last nerve. So we didn’t buy the sofa that night, but went home to sleep on it and in my OCD way, research the hell out of that brand name.
After a lot of googling, I found out that this was an extremely well respected name brand of furniture and I felt confident that we were getting a fair price. So after moving over 700 pounds of extra wood (that we didn’t use on the floors) back into the garage all by myself! I was feeling pretty unstoppable today and went back to the store to order our new sofa. 
I had already placed the order and was about to pay when my eye caught hold of a bakers rack I just had to have. I looked at the price tag …. a little bit out of our budget ….. hmmmm ….. should I call Remi first and ask her permission? Or just buy it and pray she doesn’t get mad at me for spending more then she had agreed upon? 
Well, I rationalized the purchase at least ten different ways and went ahead and bought it without consulting with her first. In fact she still doesn’t know …. I’ll break it to her tonight.
My plan of attack is to act as if I spent way more then I actually did and get her to tell me she’s not mad and then when I reveal what a good deal I got and show her price comparisons online, she’ll feel relieved and kiss me for doing such a good job at saving money!
I even bought some yummy wine so I can get her liquored up before I tell her how much money I spent. 
She better not get mad at you! What does she expect keeping a beautiful femme happy? It’s gonna cost a pretty penny
Hahaha, when my girl spends all my money I just grim and bare it. It’s the least we can do to keep you girlies happy. I just work over time. :/
God I am so glad ‘Remi” took you off my hands. You’re such a spoiled brat and I bet you thought while spending her hard earned money that she was going to forgive you because you’re pretty. You’re such a bimbo some times.
I liked the Ikea couch you picked out and I like the one you ended up with too. So ehhh …. they’re both nice, looked like it was a win win.
I’m sure Remi will forgive you once you bat those lashes of yours. Oh and I have that bakers rack. I paid over a grand for mine. Way over
Hope you got a better deal then I did or maybe you’ll have to do a bit more then bat your lashes to make Remi OK with your big purchases today. Either way, I’m not worried about you, you’re “resourceful” to say the least! LMFAO
PS: Is your rack the wrought iron one with glass and marble?

Right now it’s still only half way done. And boy oh boy is it expensive to furnish a house!!! So I’m trying to be good and make functional, reasonable purchases even when my heart goes ga-ga over a $5,000 chair, I do the grown up thing and walk away 
(Not to mention, Remi would probably walk away from ME if I ever lost my mind and tried to buy something like that!)
OK. I really like that couch. Brand please! I’m on the other side of the country so its not like people would notice or anything

@ Alex, I don’t remember .. it gets delivered Thursday. I think it was this gorgeous wood and glass. I don’t think it had marble. And Remi would kill me if I paid THAT much for it! Lordy girl, we don’t all Hollywood Big shots! LOL
@ Edge, that picture is of a Pottery Barn couch. It’s not THE EXACT one we bought but it was the closest pic I could find.
wow you and Sarah have some seriously similar taste in couches lol… ugh I see overtime in my future as well but we gotta put our flooring in first. It is sitting in a huge stack in my shop next to the house. I have too many projects.
@anonx She’s moved on and is happy, and yet, you have spent your time and energy to come here just to tell Sasha that? Are you really so glad she’s with Remi now? Because I know I don’t google and read posts by any of the exes I no longer care about. Funny that.
@WWG – I agree with everything you said @anonx. Precise, sharp, to the point. I am sorry to say it, but when that particular creepster ex of Sasha’s comments,(always says pretty much the same thing under different names), I get this image of a sad, green, lizard-skinned, slimy ogre who is all hunched over and squashed, knees-to-chin, wall-to-wall, into a small, dark, square, windowless, with a tiny door, it couldn’t fit through even if the door was unlocked. Needs to seriously get a life.

I find it funny that “ex” of yours is always going on about what you ARE, but fails to see that by doing so, she exposes what she IS.
