I was on FB today and saw C.D. Kirven’s sexy new photo and had to investigate. Of course one the cool artists I profiled on CCL is the first one to bring another cool project to my attention. The I AM EQUAL PROJECT.
Since I couldn’t possible explain it better then the creators themselves, read what they have to say for yourselves.
The record-breaking photo documentary
The I AM EQUAL PHOTO DOCUMETNARY project is aimed at giving people from all walks of life the opportunity to take a stand for those individual issues of human rights and equality that resonate most deeply within them. This project gives people the tools to engage in a conversation about life, freedom, peace, and unity in a way they may never have had before.
Everyone who takes part in this project is given a unique and custom tool in the form of a photo that they can share across the world as an invitation to all people to engage and see the world in a new way. This project is open to all people and costs nothing to participate. Simply raise your hand in support of changing the world. Together, we can make a difference.
For every person on this planet there is at least one cause they are passionate about and this documetnary project asks…what’s yours? Join the movement and tell the world what you stand for.
So of course you know I want to be part of this! Funny thing is that Remi and I were just talking about possible tattoo ideas for her. She already has a Marine Corps tattoo on one shoulder and we were toying with the idea of an equal sign on the other side. I’m about to order a few of their temporary tattoos and a sticker or two right now! I also want to check out when they’re coming to Los Angeles, how cool would that be to get one of those photos and be part of such an important project?

C. D. Kirven is gorgeous.
C.D’s got some serious swagger!
That is for sure. Magnificent comes to mind. Buy hey, I didn’t mean to take away from the I Am Equal Project, which was the point of the post. It’s quite an ambitious undertaking, a true labor of love. I enjoyed their website and spent and inordinate amount of time looking through the portraits. They don’t espouse equality for just the gays, but for everyone just because they’re human. That’s something I can get behind in a very real way.
Wow this is an amazing advocacy project. I’m definitely looking and supporting this incredibly humanitarian project. Sasha it’s wonderful how you use your blog to get the word out there about different artists and different projects that make a real difference in our world. Thanks for being such an unconditional advocate for not just gay rights but also for human rights.
Glad I’m not the only one who had trouble focusing on the words after seeing that pic. Whew! HOT!
Great project though.
How about a star tattoo with the equal sign under it? If not for a tattoo, it might look cool on the arm of a utility jacket.
