Our New Dive Bar

Has anybody else been to the Broadway? I know this is limited to locals but I’m just wondering. The Broadway was a little lesbian dive bar in Long Beach on Broadway (hence the nifty name). I’ve actually blogged about my experience here. But it’s moved to the Executive Suite a few blocks away.

Ever since I heard about the move I wanted to go check it out and the other night I finally got a chance. For those of you who don’t live in LA, Executive Suite is one of the few options for gay girls on a Saturday night. It’s a two story, divey club and while it’s got a reputation for being a little on the ghetto side, it’s usually a good time. So anyways, the Broadway has relocated to the bottom floor of the Suites.

A few nights ago, Remi, Amazon and myself mosied on over there after dinner to grab a drink. I was expecting it to be empty on a Wednesday night but was pleasantly surprised by the small but eclectic crowd.

From what I could gather, there were a few straight boys playing pool and enjoying the cheap drinks. An elderly woman that looked every inch a school principle in her long dress suit, playing pool on the other table with an extremely short butch woman. Several young lesbians that were drunk off their ass and falling off bar stools. A few bi-curious looking red heads, a couple nice looking butches with their hands on their girlfriend’s asses and us.

The music was too loud and not that good. The bar stools hurt my rear but over all, it was a very chill vibe. I’m happy to announce that we have a new lesbian bar to hang out at whenever we need to get out of the house on a week night.

While it wasn’t blow-my-skirt-up exciting,  it is a nice alternative to drinking alone, in my bedroom waiting for Remi to get home. Errr …. not that I do that sort of thing. ;)

Thanks for the tip, Sasha. I was just in LB last week, and me and my friend were wondering where a good place to hang out was. Will definitely check it out next time I’m up there.

Glad to hear Broadway has found a new home! At least now there’s actually room to move around — I hated the old location because it was standing room only. We should meet up for a drink :-)

2 LB_Boi …. ummm yea!!!!! We totally should. We’re so close yet we never run into each other. Except that one time at Dinah Shore, your look-alike ran away from me at the pool. I was genuinely hurt till I realized it wasn’t you. ;) … although I still wonder what was so horribly scary about me, she had to run in the opposite direction when I approached her!? :/
