So with the recent negativity surrounding pride, i would like to announce that i am in fact going to be attending Cincinnati’s Pride this year….(represent) put on by Equinox. I have recently been on their site and they are offering a documented registry (though not legally recognized), of married homos. yay! and i found this site for all your gay paraphernalia, just in case you wanna come out with it or love the pride-y rainbow shit, as i do. Rainbow suspenders are my favorite though. 
It’s weird how there’s weirdness around “Pride.” Maybe as any group becomes more accepted or integrated to the general population, they don’t feel the need to come forward? Truth is, though we are a fairly integrated group who don’t always need to even go to specifically “gay” clubs, etc…anymore, we still have a long way to go. Seeing all types of people represented at Pride is really cool, and emphasizes that we’re diverse…like any other group. It might also be affirming to a lot of people to be able to be ‘open’ when maybe where they live, they can’t be open elsewhere – holding hands, etc..I forget that sometimes bc I live in a city where people don’t care.
I agree with you Jul, I was just talking about that very topic last night with Remi how I don’t feel like I’m in a “gay marriage” I just feel like I’m in a “marriage.” …. And I think I will still attend some Pride activities, like the parade (never been to the actual parade yet!) … And go to the nightclubs on Pride weekend … And people watch around town outside of the festival ….. But I’m going to try to avoid the drama from now on.

Dang Sash,I am so glad you decided to at least think about Pride events! Don’t know if you will go to LA, San Diego or any but, this never give it ALL up! See this will be my first time going to the SD Pride!! Looking foward to it for sure. Maybe see you and Remi down there as well…never know…right?
