The Most Lesbianic Jewelry Line EVER

OK so I’ve been going on and on about a super secret project that I’ve been working on,  and it’s finally done!!!! Well … not really. It’s an ongoing project but the first few pieces are FINALLY ready for public consumption!!!

Let me explain a little first. Like any femme, I tend to obsess over jewelry. And like many femme’s, I am invisible to other lesbians. This has been such an ongoing issue that I almost got a tattoo that read “DYKE” or “Lesbian” on my inner arm. Seriously!

But Remi wouldn’t let me. So I started looking for jewelry to wear that would get my point across. But the stuff that’s out there just wasn’t me. Then one night it hit me! Why not make what I can’t find ANYWHERE else?!

….. and so I did.

Hand Stamped Satinless Steel
I’ve been like a little gay elf, working away in my workshop making lesbianic jewelry that I wanted to wear. Then I thought, “Hey if I like this stuff so much, maybe someone else might too!” So I opened an Etsy store! 🙂

After a lot of trial and error and research, I decided to work mainly in two mediums. Stainless steel and resin.

I chose stainless steel for several reasons. You can read about that on the bottom of each SST piece in my shop. So I won’t bore you with ALL the reasons. Except to say that in the end, I picked the highest quality steel I could find. It’s all made here in the USA and that’s not easy to find. It also looks pretty fucking hot. All the major designers are using this “alternative metal” now and I thought, “Ha how ironic! An alternative metal for alternative people! Love it!”

Next, I discovered resin. I quickly became OBSESSED with it. Why? Because it’s so ridiculously fun and sparkly! I can do things with my resin pieces I can’t do with the steel. Granted, the resin pieces are probably more aimed for the femmes …. for now. I am working with Remi on some pieces that are not sparkly and much more butch. 🙂 So stay tuned.

But for now, my resin pieces are just a lot of fun and I have been wearing a few pieces around town to test them out. So far, my faux-two-finger femme and dyke ring have gotten UH-MAZING responses from people!

This new line of lesbianic jewelry is proving to do exactly what I designed it for, to increase visibility, start conversations and grab attention from other lesbians!

It’s still brand new and I am literally working on new pieces and new designs every day! So keep checking back every week!

Oh, I only have a few rules for wearing my jewelry: You must swear to me to flirt your ass off, talk to random chicks, get into as much sexy trouble as possible and have FUN!

AAAACK!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!! the anticipation for this project was well worth the wait! surely my hubby will approve of this sort of jewelry shopping lol

Really cool stuff – fun, funky, edgy! But I’m really curious about the motivation behind the decision to create the line. Why is it important to you to wear jewelry that identifies your sexual orientation? Why is visibility, conversations and grabbing attention from other lesbians important to the designer?

Holy shit woman!! You are awesome! This is so cool! So proud of you!

Been waiting for the big reveal, Sasha, and I am absolutely delighted with the results. You are so creative, on top of being smart and gorgeous. You’re right in that these pieces fill a void in the market. I especially love the pendants, but the rings are awesome, too. I’m already in line. Something tells me it’ll be sell-out, and I want to own an original piece of the collection. I love bracelets so I’m hoping you’ll do some of those in the future as the line expands.

  5. Elegy

    OMG!!!

  6. Rexie

Okay, so I just looked through the collection, and I have to say the sparkly lipstick ring is my absolute fave. Is that an imprint of your lips? Are you gonna tell?

  7. Kenda

Dear lord, woman! Is there nothing you can’t do? How did you learn to make jewelry, cause it looks really professional. I have a feeling you just waved your magic wand. I am in AWE. So creative. I like the mixed print style you chose. And the Mrs & Mrs. It’s all very cool. Wow.

  8. ASecondLook

    Thats really cool…

  9. Jazmenha

I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!! I am incredibly proud of you!!!! Hummm I have my eye on the equality heart. Wow reality of you doing this is so amazing!!!!!! Any men’s stuff like cuff-links? My brother’s husband would love that. Wow girl I am SO impressed and proud!!!!!!

  10. Jazmenha

I know it’s lesbian jewelry 🙂 I just got really exciting and just “had” to ask for my brother in law. 🙂

  11. alice

YAY! finally! i have been looking for some jewelry exactly like this to help me be more visible. the problem is nothing i have come across has been to my liking! your stuff is gorgeous! and thank heavens for the stainless steel! i am highly allergic to all metal except stainless steel or real gold. which is expensive. :p 😀

  12. RadDyke

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! We must talk about jewelry making methods!

  13. Kristy

this is so awesome im so gonna buy something from your store

  14. WWG

    LOVE IT!

  15. Novia

Oh My God!! Sasha, you are amazing! The anticipation for the news was so worth the wait. 🙂

  16. Sasha

Yay! Omg I am soooooo relieved you guys like it! You have no idea how nervous I was to show this part of me really. I felt more exposed with this then with my writing for some reason!! I have no idea why, but I did. So your warm reception of my new work, makes my heart soar!!! Thank you!!!

I hope you guys don’t get tired of it, because I’ll probably make a little “Shop” category so I can show you new designs and people can easily link to my store from here …. But don’t feel obligated to read those posts! Lol 🙂 don’t worry they won’t take the place of the blog posts! Just an addition like once a week maybe. 🙂 it’s about time CCL starts earning its kibble!!! I’m tired of Remi paying for its upkeep. So this was one way I could support this blog on my own. 🙂

  17. Sarah M.

that’s a great idea, sasha! raye and i both love the brass knuckles necklace 😉

i know what you mean about being more exposed. i can’t explain it. but, i get you. 😉

just know that i will continue to share your pieces as much as i can to everyone!! keep ’em coming!!

  18. Jazmenha

I think a link on your blog showcasing your jewelry is a magnificent idea! I support you completely. Plus I know how expensive it is to run a site- there are dues to keep it running. I understand about the “exposed” feeling – with my poems up I feel exposed too but I guess a little exposing oneself every once an awhile is ok. hehe You are extremely talented and I’m excited about your new jewelry project. Ohhhh you should make lesbian designed femme shoes/heels ohhhh I would buy several pairs. 🙂 (In the meantime I have my eye on that equality heart necklace.) So proud of you my dear friend.

  19. Rexie

I’m with Sarah and Raye, the brass knuckles necklace is one cool piece of hardware. I also like the So Gay “dogtag”. I know you’re going to inundated with custom requests, but how about something that says “Card Carrying Lesbian”? If that doesn’t get the message out, nothing will.

  20. Elegy

Well you are more exposed, art is all about expression, and you pull it from a part of you that otherwise wouldn’t see the light of day. Now you’ve been writing for years, and through experience there’s nothing you can’t handle because rarely is there a topic or part of yourself you haven’t exposed. When that new part sees the light, it has the potential to burn. You’ll work up your calluses all the same, and be fine. 🙂

  21. Sarah M.

lol Rexie! i love the “so gay” necklace too! and i’m quite shocked i don’t see any CCL items! 😀

whatever happened to those membership cards? lol

  22. Jazmenha

I LOVE how u are displaying your beautiful jewelry on the side of the CCL main page. Love it! You’re go talented girl!

  23. Sasha

Thank you Jaz 🙂 and thank you Sarah, RadDyke, Rexie, Raye, Elegy, Novia, WWG, Kristy, Alice, ASecondLook, Kenda, and Socialdee. Thank you ALL for your kind words and support. You made my coming out as a closeted jewelry maker so much easier!! 🙂

And SocialDee, I was going to respond here about your question but it started to get a little long winded. It’s something I might address in a post soon. 🙂

  24. Alex

I am so proud of you babe. This is fucking outrageously awesome!! I love all of your pieces. Consider 3 of your steel pices bought and paid for. But not on etsy, make them up for me and I’ll pick them up on person when I get back to Cali in a week or so. I want the dyke lesbian brass knuckle ones and the so gay one and are you going to do a butch daddy one? Custom order that one then! Lol. Seriously. I want those 3.

And look beautiful, I wanted to tell you on here, where everyone can read it too … That I hope you’re listening to what people are telling you. You’re doing really good, I’m really proud of you. We’ve been friends for 12 years now and I’ve seen all sides of you and this one is by far the best. A dancer/writer/artist?! Next you should sing for us, they would DIE if they ever heard your sexy ass Marilyn Monroe voice. Oh god, I miss your voice!!

Yea and if you’re wonring why I’m rambling maybe you charge your damn phone once in a while woman!!! I’ve been calling you since I hit Miami. Headed to the big easy now …… cALLLLLL mEEEeEeE

  25. alice

Oooo just had a thought! i would love to see some cool thumb and middle finger silver stacking rings! i’ve looked and looked for just a plain, thin, silver band that i can wear on my thumb and on my middle finger but i haven’t come across any that i love. if anyone can make a cool one, it’s you Sasha!

  26. Sasha

Alice, you’re not the first to mention that! Ive been wanting to try my hand at that! And jazz mentioned that as well … Making SST rings requires a whole new set of skills! but I’m up for the challenge 🙂 I will be working on it!!! 🙂

  27. Jazmenha

Sasha- Anything you do my friend will be successful. You’re: never give up, kiss my ass, eh- bite me, I can do it watch me: this attitude of yours is ABSOLUTELY wonderful!!!!!! And it’s very inspiring!

  28. RadDyke

Jaz brought up my point. Cuff links. But specifically butch cuff links. I’ve been awaiting a nice pair…so far my favorite are my pair that are scrabble tiles with moustaches, but I could always use a fancier pair of cufflinks…

  29. Jazmenha

I was ref to cufflinks for my bro’s hubby but OMG “butch cufflinks” OMG that is hot!!! Oh when will I have my own butch so I can write poems and buy jewelry for her???!!??!! Sigh 😉

  30. Amanda

Sasha rocks, hands down! Can’t wait to get my jewelry and make everyone in Ohio jealous and then huge fans! Then, I’ll have them buying it! Thank you, Sasha so, so much for hooking me up with an awesome solution to my request. Can’t wait! 🙂

  31. Bear

I got my little package of gayness in the mail today and I love the pieces even more in person! I can’t wait to show them off! I will most definitely be ordering more!

  32. Sasha

@Amanda, thank you so much for your support!! And I was MORE then happy to make that customization for such a cool girl, such as yourself!! Let me know when you get it!

@Bear, yay!!!! I’m so happy you like them!!! Can I ask you a huge favor? Could you leave me some feedback on etsy? You’re my first customer and it would mean SO much & help me build a good rep 🙂

  33. Bear

    Done:)

  34. Femmelover

Congrats, Sasha. The pieces are very nicely done.
