I think that it was one of the first international pen-palling sites I joined. I met many now people there during many years. Some of them became long-lasting pen-friends, other Facebook account and I even met some of them in person. All my long-lasting international pen-pals actually come from that site. Unfortunately, that has members a lot. Each time I returned to Interpals - the free got worse. It's actually the interpals dating - Interpals is not some special case.

The site is flooded with fake profiles and scammers, site ones you would find site dating sites, like Badoo, Tagged and similar. Good-looking men coming from the USA, UK and similar interpals sending you "hi, beautiful" type of messages in their broken English. Fake US soldiers using photos of deceased people. A lot of married men searching for an affair. And - perverts.

There are also people who send one-time free messages and free you reply - you never hear from them again. The interface is not so user-friendly as before. If you delete a profile photo - everything in your profile gets deleted, so you have to write it all over again.
